7 Reasons to Celebrate at Andrews of Charlottetown

On Sunday, September 29th, the Congregation de Notre-Dame Sisters at Andrews of Charlottetown, and throughout the Island, gathered in prayer and thanksgiving in honour of 7 wonderful Jubilarians celebrating 75 and 70 years of profession. Sr. Catherine Smith and Sr. Marie Gaudet made profession 75 years ago. While Sisters Patricia Smith, Eleanor McQuaid, Eileen Doiron, Noreen MacDonald, and Elizabeth Dunn made profession 70 years ago. Throughout their life and work, they have touched many lives and hearts, together providing over 500 years of service in Prince Edward Island, throughout Canada, and in other countries of the world.

Our day began with a beautiful Sunday Mass in which Fr. Bob Coady was celebrant. The key message from his homily was for us to ask ourselves if we were roadblocks or stepping stones to others. It seems to us that these 7 women have been stepping stones to so many over the years. Later in the day, other CND Sisters joined those at Andrews to continue the celebration with a short prayer service followed by refreshments.
