Associates’ 40th Anniversary
The Congregation de Notre-Dame Visitation Province Associate Relationship invited all Associates and Sisters to a special celebration held at the Fortress of Louisbourg in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The event was on Thursday, August 25, and it was a huge success! The weather that day was totally awesome… no fog, no rain, just warm sunshine! Happy faces were everywhere as participants from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Montreal, and even Japan, greeted one another after so many months of isolation in various forms.
Father Bill Burke, supported by the Parkland choir, officiated at a Benediction service.
We had delicious food, on pewter plates, while enjoying lively conversation and visiting.
Later, a travel cart helped transport us to the Monument, where we gathered to reflect on the significance of the setting there. Workers at the Fortress were kind and helpful; they said they enjoyed our being there. We were able to visit Building 11 and take time to check out the exhibits and information that volunteer Associates and
Sisters share with visitors to the site every summer.
It was a wonderful day to meet and greet; to share memories and stories, and pray with grateful hearts and voices in thanks for all that has been in our CND history.
