Chapelet to Marguerite Bourgeoys

The chapelet will consist of eight decades‐one for each decade of Marguerite’s life. The idea is to compose a simple format which is especially helpful to persons who are ill or experiencing fatigue when a more complex form of prayer is not possible.

 

In place of the longer Creed we say:

Jesus is Lord

(first Creed)

 

First bead we pray:

St. Marguerite help us to love our God above everything and our neighbour as ourselves.

(This prayer is repeated every time we come to the bead between the decades.)

 

Each bead of each decade we pray:

Marguerite Bourgeoys, woman for others, pray for us.

(We pray this mantra while reflecting on each of the eight decades in Marguerite’s life.)

 

Closing prayer for vocations:

Mary, show the CND’s, all priests and religious, your Son’s love. Add vocations to their number and give each of us new purpose in our own vocations.
