Esperanza-Hope 2024

Coming together with other religious of my age or younger gave me much hope of the future of religious life. As leaders in our church and world we are invited to collaborate and live out the spirit of collaboration and of “ubuntu”. The best way to predict the future together is to risk together in our shared humanity. (Maco)

Hope-Esperanza: Name of the Meeting of consecrated life. We meet in Chicago to build Bridges of Hope. This meeting exceeded my expectations. It was like an Intercongregational, Intercultural, and intergenerational Chapter. Leadership assumed from our vulnerabilities and lived in community. We believe that God continues to bet on us and awaits our Prophetic Testimony. Together everything is possible! (Melba)

Vulnerability is what connects us and allows us to be bridges of hope together. These bridges are not meant to be permanent structures but rather open to moving to where the need in our world is. This impermanence brings us back to our vulnerability. (Karen)

I have been to conferences that nourish me with respect to Campus Ministry and Vocation Ministry. Esperanza-Hope 2024 fed my spirit as a religious sister. Wow! The gathering, the sharing, the listening, the laughter and even the dancing (that I watched from the wings) is to be treasured. I am grateful to be introduced to The Leadership Collaborative and the network it offers. (Sue)

Unworthiness, shame and fear all can lead to vulnerability. However, when we allow ourselves to “be” vulnerable, feelings of love-belonging bubble up in our heart. Believe you are worthy of love and belonging in the wholeness of God. Brene Brown asked,” why do we struggle with vulnerability when it is the birthplace of love and compassion?” Thus, we must be seen, love our whole heart and practice gratitude and joy. I Am Enough. Thank you 💕 (Janet)
