January birthdays – Domaine Mahonia
On January 12, 2025, our holy foundress chose to be present in Le Jardin de Marguerite at Domaine Mahonia.
As she found the community celebrating January birthdays, she addressed each of our stars:
“Dear Colette, ‘daughter of the parish,’ as I so wished for my daughters, I have seen you working as a teacher and parish pastoral animator at Sainte-Marie for many years. It is no surprise to me that parishioners have such fond memories of you.
Dear Diane, I am delighted to visit you on your 80th birthday. I accompanied you for forty-three years among the Innu of the Basse-Côte-Nord. As a teacher, school principal and pastoral assistant, you spared no effort to promote the liberating education of this people so dear to my heart.
Dear Bernadette, your exploits in liturgy still fascinate me; but on my birthday, I am still amazed by your commitment in Cameroon and even more so by your fruitful involvement with my people in Troyes. Everywhere you have left traces of humour and bravery.
Dear Candide, you know that, on the day of my profession, I chose the name of Sister of the Blessed Sacrament. It is surely no coincidence that I recognize in you a great devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Your responsibility as a sacristan helps to make it all the more appealing. For the sake of many, I encourage you to continue your work with SASMAD.
As I return to heaven, I promise to greet your family and friends up there and to be with you in the hopeful new year of 2025.”
