Job posting: JPIC Coordinator

The Congregation of Notre Dame is a vibrant, international religious community of sisters and associates, with a strong presence throughout Canada. The Canadian English-speaking sector of the CND (Visitation Province) are seeking to hire a Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Coordinator. Social and ecological justice, including right relationship and reconciliation work, are all essential values to Visitation Province and the Congregation.

The Coordinator, working with a Core JPIC committee, will create and facilitate learning opportunities; coordinate activities; support and serve as a resource; collaborate with like-minded organizations in responding to issues on the global, national, regional and local levels; keep all members of the province informed of significant issues or events pertaining to Justice Ministry; assist in deepening our commitment to personal transformation and living in Right Relationship; represent us at local, regional and national conferences and gatherings related to social and ecological justice, in the public form, through social media, and by participating in relevant public events.

The successful candidate will have post-secondary education with a preference for a university degree in Theology, related studies, or the equivalent. This position requires a person with an openness to the spirit and charism of the CND; a broad justice/ecological/peace-making/non-violent stance and a passion for social and ecological justice; knowledge of national and international justice, peace and integrity of creation issues; good listening, people, written and oral communication skills, as well as IT, Microsoft 365 and social media skills; collaborative skills, appreciation for contemplative practices; a desire for ongoing education and the ability to keep abreast of critical issues in the area of social and ecological justice. Some travelling will be required for this position.
