Matinée Anyone?
We are grateful for our re-assembling. We resumed our daily community dining (hi-lighting our disk jockey, Sr. Monica McKenna), informal get-togethers, birthday celebrations, spontaneous gatherings, weekly sing-a-longs (featuring our resident musician Sr. Violet Belair) and our delightful Matinées, etc.
From the classic “Fiddler on the Roof” to the suspenseful, dramatic thriller “The Good Liar” (special thanks to Sr. Eleanor McCloskey for her movie recommendation). More recently, to the 2019 “Downton Abbey” movie.
This pure escapism transported the Mary of Peace Sisters and they forgot all about the grey, rainy weather. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thumbs-up from Sr. Dorothy Maher!
Merci beaucoup to the cafeteria staff who supplied us with a crunchy treat which enhanced the matinée ambiance.
Heartfelt thanks to all our fellow, conscientious frontline staff préposés, nurses, caretakers who are vital and precious hence enabling me to carry out this beloved Ministry of connecting with all, meaningfully. Truly, a community serving a community at Résidence Bon Secours. These matinées and times of togetherness spread cheer, joyfulness, encouraged lighthearted banter, built rapport and created warm memories.
Grateful, thankful, blessed.
