My Plans… God’s Plans

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are my ways your ways says the Lord"
                                                          (Isaiah 55:8)

PLANS, I always have plans!  My agenda is full.
My mind is always thinking of what I will do next.
However when I woke up this morning
These words spoke loudly to me: "For I know the plans
I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
As I contemplate this reading what word or phrase
speaks to me today?
At times I question the God of MY plans and desires.
How can You, "declare,” hinder what I want to do?

Why are You changing the plans I have made for the day?
How can you allow this to happen to the people
I love, permit the suffering and situation in our world?
I recall even Jacob wrestled with the angel sent by God.
(Genesis 32:22). Job questioned God's actions. (Job 7:20)

I am always surprised when I read of how Mary questioned

at the Annunciation.  (Luke 1:26).

My GPS provides me with positioning, navigation and

timing services. At times it directs me one way and I want to

go another.  I hear a voice repeating and repeating "Recalculate”
"Recalculate" until I change directions or just turn it off.
How does "recalculating" and follow God's plans
direct and transform me?
Do I believe they will help me prosper,
give me hope and a future or do I just turn off the voice?
How am I accepting this moment as God shapes the future?
The timing, positioning and the navigating of my life
may need to be recalculated (discerned).
"Many are the plans in a person's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails" (Proverb 19:21)
LENT is a good time for me hear and live the words:
"Do not be anxious or worry about anything,
But in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God
And the peace of God, which transcends
all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your mind in Christ Jesus"  (Philippians 4;6)
As I begin my day I hold whatever has stayed
with or stirred in my heart and give it to God.
YES, GOD I DO BELIEVE YOU HAVE AMAZING
PLANS FOR ME EVEN WHEN I DOUBT AT TIMES
