News from the General Conference May 17

Our day started with the magnificient hymn Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est (Taizé). Upon morning prayer, we feel both united in God and grateful for the rich diversity of our four languages. Bishop Edgar Gacutan, member of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, gives us the presentation of the day: “The Reality and Future of Contemporary Missionary Work in Japan”. From the start, he invites us to open wide the horizon before us, to remove barriers. The day ends nicely: we are invited to the early celebration of the Feast of the Ascension in the Chofu convent chapel.
