Flourishing Joy!
On May 30th, the Mary of Peace Community delighted in spending some time with our GuestSpeaker, Catherine Cherry. She is a former student of the CND’s, now retired teacher of Marianopolis, Marymount and the Villa. More recently, she is a Spiritual and Retreat Director. The topic was Flourishing Joy. At the beginning, as an ice breaker activity, we played Bible Charades (a game she created for a Retreat Centre).
Catherine based this interactive conversation on Gregory Boyle’s two books:
« Tattoos on the Heart » (2010) and « Cherished Belonging » (2024). The themes touched upon were: kinship, compassion and tenderness. Sharing ensued, as well as milk, chocolate cake and coffee. In addition, on May 21st, SNJM Sister Pat O’Neill (recognized for her spirit of hospitality) joined us. Cultivating community one cup of coffee @ a time.

Pizza Party for Mary of Peace Community
On June 3rd, the Mary of Peace Community thoroughly enjoyed their delicious «Montreal Pizza» a.k.a. «All-dressed». Nothing like an authentic, gourmet, hand-made pizza from a wood-burning oven. As the quote undeniably reads on the pizza box: «Prepared with l o v e»!

Visitation Celebration!
Montréal Visitation Associates and Sisters transferred their Visitation Day Renewal of Vows and Commitment to June 7th with a joyous celebration at the Motherhouse as we witnessed Christine Holland’s first commitment. Christine has been a lifelong friend of Marguerite and the community since her school days where she was taught by Sr. Flossie Robidoux. It was truly fitting that Sr. Flossie would receive her commitment on behalf of the community. In the autumn, she begins a new role sharing the leadership for the coordination of the associate relationship. We are delighted to welcome Christine to our Montréal group and wish her every success in her new mandate. Our festivities concluded with a delightful luncheon in the Motherhouse dining room. Many thanks to the Motherhouse for so graciously receiving us with Visitation hospitality.
