News from Visitation Province
Formation
“When the heart is open to the sun of grace, we see flowers blossom in their fragrance; these are seen to have profited by the word of God.”— Marguerite Bourgeoys
Libby Osgood, CND, will be renewing her temporary vows on July 21st, 2022. We rejoice with Libby and promise her our prayerful support as she continues to deepen her commitment to God within the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.
General Conference
The General Conference is scheduled to meet in Montreal on June 17 – 24. During this time, we will hear reports from various provinces and regions as well as those given by various services and dossiers under the General Administration.
The General Conference will continue to advance the process of transformation/simplification that Chapter 2021 recommended. This process will be one of communal discernment to help us know God’s will for the Congrégation de Notre-Dame at this point in time and in relation to the world realities in which we serve. Our overall goal is to revive the power of the charism to which we belong so that we can embody it in new and creative ways.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will assist each of us in opening our hearts to receive the new life that God wishes for us.
Associate Relationship
Visitation Province East Associates are busy planning a celebration for the Associates’ 40th Anniversary at Fortress of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia on Thursday, August 25th, 2022.

36 Sisters and Associates have signed up to take part in the online sessions offered by the JPIC (Justice peace and Integrity of Creation) Core Committee using the Jesuit Forum publication, Listening to Indigenous Voices Book. The first session is set for Tuesday, June 21st and then the group will break for the summer, reconvening in September.

The JPIC Core Committee has invited Paul Barnes, Congregation of Saint Joseph of Canada Blue Community Program Manager, and Anne Karges, CSJ to join us via Zoom on October 12th, 2022 to continue our discussion on becoming a Blue Community. Paul and Anne will share their experience and expertise with us so that we can begin to plan our next steps as a Province.
