News from Visitation Province

Holy Redeemer Convent Sydney, NS

Since 1998, the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame at Holy Redeemer Convent, have been ministering to cancer patients and also to patients requiring dialysis treatment.

We open our home to patients requiring affordable accommodations for the duration of their treatment. The patient time lines vary from one (1) week to thirty-eight (38) days.

Our community, at Holy Redeemer, has a genuine interest in our guests. The ministry is primarily one of hospitality & presence, listening and providing encouragement to vulnerable people. In this way, we help them cope with the anxiety of receiving cancer treatment or dialysis often in the midst of financial stress.

Our dedicated staff provides healthy meals and follows the cleanliness of the house. They also take time to listen to the concerns of the patients as well. Sisters and staff are committed to providing a welcoming relaxed atmosphere in our home.
