Farewell to Nancy
On Tuesday, November 22, the Okanagan Associates gathered at Kathleen's home for our regular monthly meeting. We have been following the Listening to Indigenous Voices program and finished sessions 8 and 9 with great contemplation and discussion. Because a few members in our group have to travel quite a distance, we have been meeting over lunch and doing 2 sessions on one day.
Everyone commented on how our awareness of and sensitivity to indigenous concerns have increased as we reflected on the Chapter documents, especially reaching out to the peripheries. We are blessed to be Associates and grateful for the leadership of the Congregation de Notre-Dame community in this area.
After the study part of our day, we had a farewell ceremony for Sister Nancy who is moving to Kingston in December. Sister Nancy has lived in BC for over 40 years, (nearly 10 in Kelowna) and has been an integral part of the Associate community since the very beginning. Our hearts are heavy to say goodbye, but we know new exciting doors will open for her in Kingston.
