JPIC Coordinator Visits Kingston

Kingston CND associates and sisters gathered on October 15th at St. Joseph Church Hall for an enthusiastic presentation from Ruva Gwekwerere, Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Coordinator for Visitation Province.

Ruva shared the vision of Integral Ecology and her passion for policy and advocacy while working in collaboration with others in the same fields. The three pillars for Visitation Province JPIC are the care for our common home, Indigenous reconciliation, and protection of migrants and refugees.

Ruva shared ways we can all engage with JPIC, including praying for leaders at COP 28 and reading and discussing Laudate Deum. The Kingston sisters and associates were buoyed by Ruva’s energy for her role with the focus on each one’s part and together for the life of the world.

Ottawa Retreat Day

On September 30th, 2 sisters and 5 associates from Ottawa gathered for the 3rd year in a row on the beautiful grounds of Lake McGregor, Quebec, at the lovely cottage so graciously offered by the Oblate Community.

A beautiful sunny day: the earth, water, trees, people, rocks, critters and sky cradled us all as we dove deep in love and communion together.

Clara and Bill led us on a journey of relaxation, healing and transformation. To say it was a powerful day is an understatement. Sr. Nina Glinski helped with the food and snacks and Patricia led us in a letting go and reaching out body dance.

Also present were Jacquie, Wendy and Rosemarie, Ottawa Associates. Bill managed to get a canoe ride in and we all reveled in the gorgeous day!

We set out for home after dinner with much gratitude in our hearts. Patricia MacNeil, Ottawa Associate

A fifth Tea & Talk took place on October 17th at Holy Redeemer Convent. Word has circulated about the Women’s Tea & Talk which is an opportunity for women who have been isolated or are new to the area; anyone needing to meet and socialize and share their beautiful stories. The Theme song ‘Somewhere to Begin’ opens our gathering and brings these women joy to dream, sing and love.
