Birthday Celebrations

On October 22nd, we had a double birthday celebration at the CND Health Care Center. Sr. Margaret Burke celebrated 96 years and Sr. Bernardine Burke celebrated 93 years. Lots of cake, song and friendship was shared with these two special ladies. A wonderful time was had by all.

On Tuesday, October 27th, we celebrated Sr. Joanne MacFarlane’s 81st birthday. We are extremely fortunate for the gift of Sr. Joanne to all of us at the health care center.

Book recommendation

A good little book for dealing with change “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson, M.D. is a simple, insightful little book about four characters who always go to the same place every day for their cheese. In the story, Cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life, and the Maze is where you go to look for it. The characters, two mice and two “little people” are faced with unexpected change. Eventually, one of them deals with it successfully and writes what he has learned from his experience on the walls of the maze. Its 94 pages are filled with wisdom that can be applied to change in any aspect of life.
