News from Visitation Province (Canada)

The sisters of Mary of Peace Community at Résidence Bon-Secours planned a tea party to celebrate Bishop Wingle's birthday on Thursday September 24, 2020. The afternoon was filled with good conversation, companionship, gratitude and a great appreciation for Bishop Wingle's presence and service to the CND community. The group merrily sang happy birthday to him and expressed good wishes for continued health and happiness.

Walking in Wonder: Eternal Wisdom for a Modern World by John O’Donohue and John Quinn. (Convergent Books: 2018. 188 pages).

This book brings us poetry, reflections, blessings and inspiration in these times when we seek hope and positive messages. It’s not a fast read; the lines need time and attention as we move through chapters titled Wonder, Meister Ekhart, Landscape, Absence, Balance, and Aging. John Quinn says O’Donahue’s words “still sing off the page.”

Just Recovery Petition

Don't forget to sign the petition from the “For the Love of Creation” coalition. The deadline is Tuesday, October 6. We are hoping to reach 4,000 signatures and we are less than half way there. Currently, the majority of those listed are from Ontario, so it is especially important for those of us from other Provinces to take a minute and add our names. This is very much in line with the Canadian commitment at the Paris Conference and our continued encouragement for the Government to act on those commitments is what we promised to do in our Corporate Stance.

To sign the petition, go to: https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-2712

Go to the bottom and click on 'sign the petition.'
