The Month of May at Mary of Peace Community
Carmie Rizzo and Lina Farinaro have been boosting the spirits of the sisters at Mary of Peace Community by preparing displays for the month of May (with emphasis on Mary), and spring scenery on the bulletin boards in the common spaces and in sisters' rooms. Lina was assisted by Srs. Clare O'Neill and Gladys Hayward.

Recommended website and video
Diarmuid O'Murchu has an interesting website at https://diarmuidomurchu.com It includes a number of free video presentations by him. The 20 minute one I recommend is Integral Spirituality for the 21st Century. In it he differentiates between The Devotion of Consolation and A Spirituality of Liberation. https://youtu.be/EPuU9Hpu6k4

Social Media and the Global Pandemic
I am noticing an increase in my screen time for work, relaxation and for prayer. In the absence of gathering as a faith community for Eucharist, online celebrations are my “norm”.
Without Eucharist, the Word of God is a strong source of nourishment for me. I “shop” around for a good homily and sometimes, turn off the mass after the homily to sit with The Word a bit longer. I have found a lectio with the Carmelites in Baltimore (www.baltimorecarmel.org ) on Saturday afternoon helpful. Reading, guest reflection, small groups, intercessions, closing – 90 minutes passes quickly!

Living as a Blue Community
Activity for this week: Remember and give thanks for who is with you/us in our commitment to being a Blue Community.
We recognize with gratitude that we are not alone in our actions to protect water as Sacred and as a Human Right. Who are you sharing and collaborating with?
