Official Visit of the Leadership Team to Blessed Sacrament Province
On October 16, we visited the Executive House, which has 131 rooms. Fifteen sisters live here, and Blessed Sacrament Province has employed three care navigators, a house manager, and an engagement coordinator to help improve their quality of life. The General Council members met with them to gain a deeper understanding of the support system provided for the sisters.
We visited with the sisters and listened to what they shared. Two sisters had just moved there from Oklahoma, where they had lived for over 30 years. They had been featured in the newspapers when they left.
October 16th is Sister Marijke’s birthday. After Mass, a party was held in her honour. There were daisies on the table, and I took a photo of a sister with a daisy tucked behind her ear. The smiles of the sisters who live here are full of hospitality.
A gathering with the associates was held at 7 p.m. We are always touched by their sharing and can sense their deep trust in Marguerite.
