Official Visit of the Leadership Team to Blessed Sacrament Province
On October 20th, we flew from Chicago to Staten Island, New York, and arrived at the convent where three sisters live. In the evening, we had a gathering with the associates at the convent. We shared our thoughts in Spanish and English. We had a great time at dinner with the sisters, sitting around the table.
On October 21st, we visited Notre Dame Academy and were welcomed by the cute children. There was a welcome prayer gathering in the school chapel, and we were greeted by a statue of St. Marguerite made by a student. Sister Sophie was also able to join this gathering via Zoom. Each of us was accompanied by two student guides, and we visited each class in the elementary, junior high, and high school.
During lunch, we reflected and shared with the president and principal of Notre Dame Academy. In the classroom where we had lunch, there were pictures of the Visitation drawn by a student. In the afternoon, we visited a kindergarten.
We had an early dinner with the school’s board members and were able to catch up on the latest happenings at the school.
Afterwards, we had an Evening of Interculturality where we enjoyed prayer, singing, and dancing by students and teachers.
