Marie is a woman who is passionate about liberating listening to the Word of God, especially to transform mindsets and structures. She studied theology in Ottawa (Dominican University College) and in Jerusalem (École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem) leading to a doctorate with a specialization in biblical exegesis. Supervised by Michel Gourgues, O.P., and published in October 2018, her dissertation focused on “The Pedagogy of God’s Visit in Luke.”
Marie is a woman of mission and leadership, committed since 2021 as a missionary in the Diocese of Liège in Belgium. In addition to the facilitation of the Diocesan Bible Services (https://sites.google.com/evechedeliege.be/bible), for which she is responsible, as well as teaching at the Diocesan Training Centre and at the Interdiocesan Seminary of Namur, Marie was appointed “Episcopal Delegate” by the Bishop of Liège, Jean-Pierre Delville, to the Vicariat Chemins de mission, which includes the following diocesan services: Vocation Services, Youth Services, Couples and Families Services, Pilgrimage Services and Bible Services. As such, since 2023, she has been a member of the Episcopal Council of the Diocese of Liège.
Since 2022, with Michel Gourgues, O.P., and in collaboration with Emmanuel Durand, O.P., Marie is also co-titular of “Gospel, Theology and Life” Chair, headquartered in Ottawa, at the Dominican Center for Ethics and Spiritual Life (https://fcud.ca/en/chair-of-gospel-theology-and-life/). This Chair offers an innovative approach that unites New Testament exegesis and systematic theology in conversation, from a missionary vitality and creative collaboration perspective, inspired by the charism of the Congrégation Notre-Dame and the Dominican Order.
Marie is also a member of an international committee on “Transformation Process” of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame de Montréal.
