Did You Know?
This concludes our modest “Did you know” project, whose aim was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Congrégation de Notre-Dame presence in Cameroon and give thanks for the former missionaries who have died, the sisters who have returned home and the six sisters who are still in Cameroon. The commitment of our 13 native Cameroonian professed sisters and the presence of our young candidates and novices were only too briefly mentioned. Sister Solange Monfet, who spent 50 years in Cameroon, will undoubtedly complete the missing data in her soon-to-be-published book.
We apologize for omitting the name Sister Dolores McKinney from the list of sisters who have returned home. She is currently on mission in Bridgeport CT, USA. We also apologize for not identifying Sister Bernadette Breton in the group photo of the sisters in Cameroon.
Many of you have expressed verbally or in writing your appreciation of our segments “Did you know?” Our trio enjoyed doing this project very much. We discovered with amazement the great investment the Congregation leadership made in terms of human resources for the mission in Cameroon. Since its foundation, more than 60 sisters have answered the call and their generous commitment has resulted in 13 native Cameroonian professed sisters.
