Walk For Our Lives protest in Newtown, CT

I was blessed to participate in the Walk For Our Lives protest in Newtown, CT the city where the Sandy Hook School shooting took place.

This sign spoke to me, one of many that were carried by over 400 people young and old. The sneakers were the ones worn everyday by a child killed in a school shooting and they were used to ID this child after the shooting. “IMAGINE”

The poem “When I Grow Up” by Mariam Azeez was one of two written by this talented young woman to bring our attention to the gun violence that is consuming our nation and the cries of our children longing to grow up. You can find her poems on google and hear Mariam read them on YouTube.

Let us not be silent.
