WYD: August 2
On Wednesday August 2, the team split into morning and evening shifts to work at the stand from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sister Violaine, who accompanies a youth group from the Montreal diocese, also came to see us.
This is a Pentecost moment, as we can respond in four languages. We probably spoke to around 500 people that morning alone.
Some come back again and again, and today I was surprised to see so many people trying their hand at making paper cranes!
Meanwhile, Pope Francis visited the nearby presidential palace. Sister Violaine took some photos!
Tomorrow is the welcoming ceremony for Pope Francis. We’re looking forward to it.
At today’s mass, the priests were still distributing communion to around a hundred people when only a few hosts were left – which had to be broken into smaller pieces to give communion to everyone!
There are around 100 confessionals, but there was a long queue around midday.
